CASTLEWOOD, Alameda County — Residents can consult official drinking-water service-line notifications published by Alameda County for the Castlewood County Service Area.
The Public Works Agency’s Castlewood page provides information about the lead service line inventory, including notices in English, Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Vietnamese and Korean.
What an inventory does
A service-line inventory records or classifies pipe materials used in service connections. It is not the same as a laboratory test of a home’s drinking water. A notice about lead pipe materials does not by itself establish a lead violation, and residents should not conclude that their particular property contains a lead service line without checking the official property information.
What customers can ask
Castlewood households may ask the county or its utility operator how their connection was classified, whether any part remains unverified, what steps are recommended for further identification, and whether follow-up information has been issued since the posted notice.
Anyone concerned about a household’s drinking water should use official drinking-water guidance and appropriately certified testing services rather than draw conclusions from the material of a neighboring connection.
For water or sewer emergencies, the county lists the system operator’s dispatch at 831-673-5508.
